About the NAMTPT
The NAMTPT is a professional nonprofit 501 (c)(6) organization dedicated to the treatment, continuing education, educational standards and public awareness of myofascial pain and dysfunction as well as to the health professionals who recognize and treat it.

Treatment – Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy, when practiced properly, is a comprehensive treatment for muscular pain.  Myofascial Trigger Point Therapists with the credentials of “CMTPT” or “MTPT” are trained to follow a specific protocol to treat Myofascial Pain Syndrome (MPS).

Continuing Education – The NAMTPT encourages and provides continuing education for its members at its annual convention.  For “Professional” or “Associate Professional” of the NAMTPT, a minimum of 20 hours of continuing education is required per year to maintain good membership standing.  Continuing education seminars are posted under “Continuing Education” in the navigation toolbar.

Public Awareness – The NAMTPT pledges a promise to the public to provide accurate, up to date information about myofascial pain and dysfunction that is easily understood and readily available online.

Myofascial Trigger Point Therapists and multidisciplinary healthcare providers are what have made the NAMTPT possible.  The support of these professionals has helped to develop the organization as it is today.  The NAMTPT is dedicated to these professionals who research, support, diagnose and treat myofascial pain syndromes.
