How to Utilize this Resource

To use Symptom Checker simply move your cursor over the body figurine and click on the area where you feel pain.  A new window will then open and allow you to choose which pain pattern looks the most like the pain you are experiencing.  You may then click on that picture and review information pertaining to that specific muscle. 

General information is provided for every muscle listed and is intended to educate the general population on pain that arises from the muscular system.  This information is not intended to provide medical advice or to replace the advice of a licensed physician.  Portions of this information, however, may be used to provide material to your physician for review.

NOTE :

A person does need to have all of the pain that is diagrammed on the pain drawings.  Compare the pain that is felt with the symptoms listed for each muscle.
There are specific stretches available for each muscle and are integral to successful therapy.  Those stretches are not provided here because there may because there may be contraindications to stretching in your case which may cause more injury.  Please seek help from a Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist or other healthcare provider for proper stretching instructions.
This information is provided for individual muscles only.  In many cases there is more than one muscle that is responsible for pain complaints.
